I actually have my biggest catch on film, and it was a flathead catfish just shy of a lake record. Crankbaits will catch anything, lol

Fishing in a big money tournament do you cut the line on your biggest fish ever or waste 15 minutes fighting a fish that you can’t weigh in? I’m catching my biggest fish. You’ve got to at least see it. I’ve hung big flathead cats on jigging spoons that I couldn’t turn. They’ll either straighten your hooks or wrap you in timber. I run 4x saltwater hooks on my spoons now. Very common to catch a big one every winter.

I've been using Z man power finesse spinners. Colorado/ Indiana blades in color mouserat,(dark silver), dynamite little spinnerbait. Also Booyah Tux and Tails black copper Colorado's ....two good non white or chartreuse alts.

That funky green is the color of my Home Lake year-round. 8 to 10 in of visibility

Please add content for northern, inland, largemouth lakes. Everything is for reservoirs or northern smallmouth lakes (LSC, etc)

Thanks kvd always great advice..I follow the advice that you and other anglers say on swim jigs, and I still have not had a bit on a swim jig. I have tried all different retrieves and no luck yet..

Thanks for the video Kevin! I’ve got to get out to some lakes with grass, lilies and other cover than the clear rocky lakes around me! There are lots of trees and stumps, but bites are typically few and far between! Just getting older and would rather fish with a buddy for launching and safety, so will just have to travel a bit further!

I have your jersey or one of them. I have a ton of KVD lures and baits. But my favorite KVD item, would be my signature series baitcaster reel and glass rod. Still break it out once in a while today.

My inner voice always makes fishing decisions based on What would KVD do. Absolutely the goat. However, when it comes to spinnerbait colors, I have to go old school and follow the guidance from Hank Parker. Color don’t matter. You can use chartreuse and white or you can use white and chartreuse, makes no difference. 😁

Kevin, my Uncle Kevin was a MASSIVE fan of you. He passed away last July on his way home with a buck on back of my 4wheeler(this is why you wear helmets on ATVs people!). I found one of his KVD hats with your signature on it and got me back into bass fishing. Wish it was possible to buy one of your old combos you don't use anymore. They are so expensive now, so I still make my own! Started in 1972 in high school with the original Okibug blanks and buy the other components. You can also use the large Beetle Spin attachment and buy lead head jigs and paint them the color of choice. The new ones look great with the head shapes, eyes and scales, but most are around $7-$10 each which is absurd! To me they are mostly a reaction bait and I seem to catch just as many if the color combo is right. Red head with white skirt is my favorite buzzbait of all time!

Too bad Strike King stopped making the KVD spinnerbait selector. Tried to find one with no luck. Bringing that back would help their spinnerbait sales because there’s so many options besides most guys just buying a 1/2 oz chart/white double willow.

Now time to discuss what type of trailer & color, if any. Fishing Lake Michigan as I do also, it can be windy. Got almighty it can it get rough. So a good action trailer is paramount.
